About Us

Field View Day Nursery is a family run business and was opened in 1995 by Margaret Hepworth, a qualified nurse and practitioner.
The Nursery operates from a fully converted, bespoke building situated within an acre of its own landscaped grounds.
We are open Monday to Friday 7.30 to 6pm
. The setting has three separate aged/development ‘base’ rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school and provides care and learning for a maximum of 75 children. We are a large nursery; however, pride ourselves on being able to offer a high quality, flexible and personal approach to all children and their families in our care. The Nursery is Ofsted registered and at our last inspection in October 2016 was awarded a judgement of ‘good’. view report

Promoting Positive Behaviour
At Field View we believe that children develop best when they know how they and others are expected to behave. Children learn and grow through interaction with caring adults who act as good role models, show them respect and value their individual personalities.
We have a named person within the nursery that co-ordinates behavior management strategies and issues. The designated lead is Sarah Ayres.
Children need fair, defined and consistent boundaries and rules. At Field View we manage behaviour using clear, consistent and positive strategies that are age/developmentally appropriate. We focus on positive discipline and praise, ignoring unwanted behaviour, and giving choices.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

All children have the right to be cared for and educated to reach their full potential through sharing learning opportunities and experiences alongside their peers. At Field View we are committed to the inclusion of all children, providing a positive and welcoming environment that supports every child’s individual needs. Our Special Educational Needs Coordinators are Sarah Ayres and Tracey Train. Early identification is crucial. At Field View we are alert to emerging difficulties and recognize the benefits of identifying needs at the earliest point and responding early. In line with requirements of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice, the nursery use a graduated approach to identifying, assessing and responding to children who have emerging difficulties, suggesting they may have special educational needs or a disability that requires a different approach.
